My Journey With Agri Planet Africa: Supporting Local Farmers and Animal Rights Through Fertilizer Production

As the Executive Director of Agri Planet Africa, I am proud to share my journey with this amazing organization. Our current project is to produce fertilizer using commercial cow manure collected from local farmers. This has a twofold effect; it helps boost the local economy by paying farmers for their cow’s manure, and it also provides an alternative solution for cows that are nearing the end of their life or are sick. Rather than selling them to butcheries, our organization will purchase the cows so they can live out their lives on our farm, and we will continue collecting manure from them.

A Year into Ukraine’s Humanitarian Crisis: KBFUS Humanitarian Response Fund Continues to Make an Impact

It has been a year since the start of the war in Ukraine, which has resulted in one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world. In response, the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) launched its Humanitarian Response Fund for Ukraine, which has distributed over $11 million so far. The needs of the estimated eight million Ukrainian refugees and the millions who were forced to relocate within their country are constantly evolving, but KBFUS and the local nonprofits it supports continue to make a positive impact.

It’s Easy to Forget: The Ongoing War and Human Cost for the People of Ukraine

It’s easy to forget that the people of Ukraine are still at war and under attack. The conflict can often slip out of our minds, yet it has been ongoing since 2022 with no end in sight. There is a horrific human cost to this tragedy – thousands of civilians have been killed and injured, many more uprooted from their homes, and still, others suffer from the toxic legacy of burned cities, displaced and poverty-stricken children and adults.

The Legacy of Nelson Mandela: How One Man’s Leadership and Courage Changed the World

My teenage daughter’s boyfriend saw a book on my shelf and asked who Nelson Mandela was. He said he knew the name but did not know about him. So, since they are on Christmas break from school, I wrote a short essay for them. This is a moment my daughter would say, “you do too much, mom…” However, Nelson Mandela is a favorite historical icon of mine, and the kids need to know!
